Transport owners and other traders joined in the summit, held in nearby hotel, where they pressed district assembly members to push harder for development to reach the region.
They said that the long, hot, bumpy rides from village to town to capital contributed to their perishable commodity, rotting along route.
For traders squeaking by on precarious profit marking and high-interest loans, such spoiled yaws represent a devastating loss, said the Director of Rural Action Concern, Mr. Theophilus Mawusi.
Drivers also tabled their concerns to the assembly. They said that the road turbulence and jalopies out of erstwhile new vehicles, and endangered lives.
The congregation strategized how to attract foreign capital to local development. William Kwame, Spokesperson for the Yaw Traders Association, mentioned an unconfirmed development grant by European Union.
At times, their meeting wandered into leaders, and transport owners said they wanted one thing out of their government road.
